DISC at work: turn friction into working agreements

Differences in approach are only one possible factor in collaboration. Examine task ownership, expectations, workload and support as well. Write down what to try together and when to review it.

Free worksheet · original exercise

Prepare a working agreement

Examine one work situation through tasks and conditions. Turn your observations into a proposal with a review point.

This original exercise covers role, demands, control, support, relationships and change. It does not replace a risk assessment or select or assign people by DISC colour.

  1. Choose one recurring work problem and record specific examples from a defined period.

  2. Consider the six contexts in the three fields below. What is clear, what information is missing and what can you influence?

  3. Propose one feasible change. Identify who has authority, what support is needed and what needs agreement.

  4. Choose an observation and a date to review whether the agreement works. Include what you will do if it needs adjusting.

Make it specific

Complete the five fields. If you do not know something yet, write the question you want to investigate. Leave out names and confidential information.

Frequently asked questions

Is workplace conflict caused by clashing DISC colors?

Scores do not establish that. Ask what happened and examine working conditions. Use the conversation to clarify roles, information and agreements without assigning people fixed color roles.
